GANESHA LUKAS ZAPATA was born in Austria in 1977, but his story begins some time before that in India, where most of his childhood would be spent until graduating from Woodstock International School in 1995.

His parents met each other in that country, where they had ended up after following the hippie trail like so many others in the 70s. In his mother’s case, this involved travelling overland from Austria via Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan, while his father hailed from Venezuela.

Growing up in the Himalayan mountains and being immersed in a living culture that dates back to antiquity, with its ancient gods and myths, provided a fertile breeding ground for an overly active imagination as well as a lasting love of fantastic art and literature.

An avid reader of fantasy and science fiction novels, the author soon resolved to start writing his own stories, with the ultimate ambition of becoming a novelist.

CYBERCHRIST is his first complete novel. The novel’s inception goes back to the late 90s. The title comes from the 1992 film, The Lawnmower Man, while the primary inspiration was the novel Neuromancer by William Gibson. Beyond that, the story attempts to blend the two genres of fantasy and science fiction, much in the way Star Wars did when it introduced the concept of a Jedi Knight wielding a laser sword, presenting what is essentially a fantasy tale in a science-fiction context.
